I am writing this witness appeal to a 850m radius of Wallace Avenue.

I have been contacted and by someone saying there has been an increase in youngsters riding their electric scooters up and down Wallace Avenue, Botley on the pavement and road with total disregard for residents and traffic. And young men are riding their motorbikes in the Botley Pavilion car park, Boorley Park, with no helmets, filming themselves, showing off to the youngsters gathered in the car park next to the kids play park. 

However, having done a search for any reports relating to Wallace Avenue in the last 3 months for Escooters / Motorbikes there has been nothing reported recently. I found a report relating to a group of young people back in May and a couple of reports relating to CCTV damage in July, but nothing relating to Escooters / motorbikes and nothing reported so far this month.

PCSO Tracey Chilcott has put a lot of work into planning operations over the summer holidays based on the reports and demand we have, so it’s a shame it looks like no one has reported this as a recent issue.

We need residents to report what is happening through the right channels – calling 101 or online.

The report/s give us the who’s, when’s, where’s etc which is all vital information for us to plan our patrols and evidence to base any further work, such as dedicated operations.
